Should I bring my laptop with me on vacation?

It's kind of new.. I bought it 7-8 months ago. I'm going to travel to the east coast (NY, Philly, Canada, Washington D.C., and Boston) for 9 days. I'll also be bring my iPod that I can only charge with my laptop. What do you suggest?
Also, I won't be using it for work… just keeping in touch with friends and family.

But! it's VACATION and I want to get away from everything… help!

Let it go. Take your Ipod, and get a different charger adaptor, and take a good book and some paper. The more "unplugged" you get, the more you can take in what's around you. When you get back to the room after the day, you could write down some of your thoughts of the day's experiences.

I was in D.C. last week! Anyways take your laptop. Other people do. There were several people on the airplane working away on the laptops.

I would say no. Enjoy life without pesky electronics and enjoy the different places you are going to. Busy yourself with many activites. I recently went to Maryland for a few days and had no computer. I loved it.

Go ahead. You can keep people posted throughout your vacation and if you are bringing a camera you can upload the pictures onto the computer and send them to friends!

Yes, I would if I were you. I'll be bringing my laptop with me to vacation this summer. It's also the only way I can charge my iPod without the iHome. I love to keep in touch with my friends, so I IM, text, and call them. Hope this helps =)!!

Yeah, I think you should..if you get bored then you can go on your laptop, plus it's a good idea if your iPod can only charge on your laptop

yes, it could come in handy if you're bored sometime during the trip…and you can use it to stay in touch with friends and stuff like that…take it along jus in case….just keep an eye on it if you take it out in public, and even in the hotel rooms…

you should consider bringing your laptop if you're thinking of keeping in touch with family &/or friends while you're away. in most places, you'll find wireless access in most major cities. think of it in this way, too… if you're planning on taking pictures during your trip, you can also share them daily with friends & family… lots to see & snap in nyc, philly, d.c, etc. however, if bulk or weight is an issue with travelling, then, i suggest not taking it. hope you have a fantastic trip, by the way!

get a charger for your ipod that you can plug it into the wall.. a laptop is just added bulk.
