Ok, so later this year i am taking a trip to go tour collges and such. i am looking to get out of the new york, pennsylvania, new jersey, delaware area and would love to go farther south because i am from there. I would also like to consider boston because its an amazing city.
So far I have only looked at 2 schools not in my area: American and George Washington (both in DC) i really liked GW but i need to look at more that arent in cities as well
Ive talked to some friends but still need reccomendations
I am smart, but definately not an Ivy Leaguer.
So these are schools ive heard of but i dont no anything about:
Coastal Carolina (SC)
University of SC (beaufort)
North Carolina University
and thats it haha, what are good schools on the east coast that arent big party schools?
I would take a look at the highly academic colleges with Division 1 sports. I think Division I sports adds an extra, positive dimension, to schools like Colgate, Georgetown, Davidson and Holy Cross. These schools have a lot of school spirit.
There’s also the College of Charleston, which is, obviously, in Charleston. It’s got an incredible reputation and a great Marine Biology program with a research lab out by the ocean. I like it because it’s in downtown Charleston, which is beautiful, and very close to the beach. It also offers a liberal arts education, which basically means you get to try out a little of everything before getting into your major coursework. I know you didn’t ask about it, but I go there, and I don’t know much about the others.
